Requirements:
5 Personal Goals: For far too long, the teacher has dictated to the student what his or her goals should be. Through Black Belt Living, you will be able to integrate your personal goals into the test and make the journey much more personal and fulfilling for yourself. These “Personal Goals” could be anything you have always wanted to try and never got around to or perhaps something you started and never finished.
Black Belt Living is about attempting the gigantic (whatever that means to you) but breaking it down into bit-sized pieces and engaging daily on the tasks that need to be completed. All you have to do is get up, train, take action daily on your goals and live with purpose and attitude. And no matter how many times you may drop the ball, you get up, get back on track and keep going. You only fail when you fail to try.
Push-ups and Crunches: 52,000 Push-ups 52,000 Crunches (Breaks down to 100 of each per day, 5 days per week, for 2 years.)
Nutrition: 90 to 95% of any and all of the food that goes into your body should be viewed as fuel to take your fitness to the next level. Do your best to create a lifestyle around positive eating habits. Reading: One book per month
Journaling: Keeping a Weekly Journal (This may also be set up as an online blog.) Journaling allows you to look back and see the impact that your journey is having on you. In the case of keeping a blog, it also allows others in your life to hold you accountable for your goals and act as cheerleaders at the same time. Journaling enables you to clarify your thoughts, values and beliefs to yourself and, should you choose to share it, to your loved ones, as well. It helps bring greater understanding of purpose, passion and goals, and keeps you motivated!
Meditation: 15 minutes per day Black Belt Living is about striving to become a fully conscious, aware, evolved and compassionate individual. It challenges you to connect - through study, self discipline, effort and focus – to those things that keep us learning, asking, growing and contributing. Class Attendance: 2x’s per week minimum (One-on-one consulting sessions count as class time) Acts of Kindness: 1000 logged Martial Arts (Physical/Style) Requirements:
· Boxing
· Kickboxing
· Self Defense
· Knife
· Stick
Attitude:
- Perhaps the most difficult aspect of this test will be your own attitude and viewpoint on a daily basis regarding where you’re going, how you are attempting to get there and what you’ve accomplished so far.
- It is easy to back-slide and let negative thinking overtake us over during a challenging situation. Try to remember, as often as possible, that a true Black Belt will look for the solution in every problem and attempt to focus on just that and that alone.
- Live at the Level of Mastery on a daily basis.
